Remodel Done

Well my makeover at my shop is completed. Now it is time to put everything back in its place and get after it. I have been needing to do this remodel for a while. I sure love how my shop looks now.

We did some camo dipping this afternoon. I have will have photos of our work on here pretty soon.

Extreme Makeover Mikes Taxidermy Shop

Construction is underway at my taxidermy shop. It is going to look a whole lot different when all is done. I am very excited about this makeover. It is much needed.

Well deer season is over and I just want to say thank you to all of my customers. Please know that I appreciate your business and I will give you my best. I hope all of you enjoyed being in the outdoors this deer season and that memories were made that will last a lifetime.

Few days left of Archery

Deer season ends Sunday night. Deer season sure does come and go in a hurry. It cannot get here fast enough and then when it gets here it is gone.

The wind today is crazy, It is hard to get some things outside accomplished in wind like this.

OKTA State Mounting Contest and Winter meeting

The OKTA will be having its annual state mounting contest and winter meeting on January 14th. If you are a taxidermist and you are not a member of this association you are missing out. So come join us for the day. The OKTA is all about promoting taxidermy and enhancing the art of taxidermy.

We have been doing some dipping today. We tried out some different patterns. Here are some pictures of what we accomplished. These are called speed shapes and they are for test sampling only.

We have lots of different patterns to choose from - and will be adding more soon.

Also, we have plans to try some interesting non-camo patterns.

The next step is to start dipping the skulls - will show you in blogs to come.

Christmas Lights

I enjoy looking at Christmas lights this time of year. From my kitchen window I can see the christmas tree on the side of the mountain overlooking the town of Granite. I can also see the cross that is lighted up on that mountain as well. It is a beautiful site to see and I look at it every nite.

Viewing both of these together reminds me of the gift GOD gave us in Jesus. He is the Light of the World.
